GED stands for General Education Development. You can earn these credentials when you appear for the exams. It is a process that is considered equivalent to high school. However, the level of education for children and adults is different.

There are five segments in the test as well. Here is a glimpse into it.
Segment 1: Writing arts
This includes testing skills in languages. There are two parts.
Segment 2: Reading arts
This is where reading skills of a language are tested. There are sections for fiction, drama, poetry, workplace documents and non-fiction as well.
Segment 3: Social studies
Here you have topics like history, geography, economics, civics, and government covered in sections.
Segment 4: Science
This is one of the most important sections in the test. It will test you on physical and life sciences. This section also covers earth and space sciences in the test.
Segment 5: Mathematics
This is also one of the most important parts of the test. There are several subsections that are included while covering mathematics in the GED online test. Measurement, number operation, algebra, functions, patterns, data analysis, probability, and statistics are few of the topics that come under the mathematics segment.
A GED online test is such that each of the segments has a maximum score of 800. So the highest marks you can get are 4000. An average score of a high school student would be 2500. The minimum cut off is at 450 points for each subject.
Taking the GED online test is considered sufficient to gain admission into college. The score is important for your future admissions as well.
